Nissan Philippines Inc., through its partner Gateway Motors Group, the largest multi-brand car dealership in Cebu, has opened its Nissan Retail Environment Design Initiative (NREDI) concept showroom in Tagum City.
The first in Mindanao, the NREDI concept showroom is an upgraded version of dealership, offering visually and technically all aspects, from sales, to service to finance, to meet consumer expectations.
“This dealership is what we call NREDI dealership, which is a new design that all our dealers in the next two years will implement. This is the 5thNREDI in the Philippines,” said Ramesh Narahimsan, president and managing director of Nissan Philippines Inc.
The Tagum showroom has an area of 781 square meters, which is actually twice the size of a usual dealership showroom. It carries some stand-out features including spacious interior layout and cutting edge styling along with Nissan’s iconic Red Tablet, a signal to visitors and customers of the exciting vehicles and technologies on display inside. The new design was made with the customer as the priority to enhance their experience with the brand while in the showroom.
“To be frank when we bought this almost one hectare property we planned to use one fourth of it and the rest is for future use but because the City of Tagum is very rich Nissan already instructed us to expand even before we inaugurated it, and construction at the back has already started,” said Markane C. Goho, Gateway president.
Narahimsan said they opted to open in Tagum City based on the following aspects: economic, infrastructure, and viability.
“There’s lot of things covered in our study and Tagum came out very strong like the market’s purchasing power and viability of dealership which give us the confidence that Tagum is a viable market,” Narahimsan said.
Goho said they were surprised about the big market potential of Tagum and Mindanao where the residents have a strong purchasing power.
After Tagum, groundbreaking for Nissan showroom in Matina in Davao City also followed. Seen to be a bigger NREDI Nissan showroom by Gateway, construction of Matina showroom is targeted to start before first half of next year.
“With a land of 5,000 square meters, Matina showroom is bigger because Davao market is bigger,” Goho said.
Michael Goho, gateway executive vice president and brother of Markane, said it is their goal to increase Nissan visibility, strengthen its presence and put Nissan in its rightful place which is always as the leader of car market.
“Our Gateway team along with the Nissan Philippines team is aligned in our strategies to see eye to eye and what to do and we aim to perform, deliver, and surpass expectations. We look forward to more growth and sustainability in this partnership,” he said.
Nissan through Gateway is now present in Cebu, Bohol, Palawan, Northern Luzon, Metro Manila, and Davao region.
“We look forward to more expansion in the country. Recently we decided to expand here in Tagum. We already initiated activities weeks back and we have gotten a feel of the market and it is very positive,” he said.
He said they aim to set the bar higher with all of the progress and positive change. He said with the latest addition to Nissan, Dabawenyos can expect more presence with this familiar brand of products like sedans, vans, SUVs, pickups, and crossovers.
