It’s the best time of the year once again!
Christmas in the country is the most celebrated and the longest anywhere else in the world. And Christmas at the Waterfront Insular Hotel Davao is most truly Christmas when it is celebrated by giving. And nothing speaks of Christmas like a Christmas tree that’s brightly lit.
For this year, the property opted to feature the festive colors of Mardi Gras. The 15 foot Christmas tree was decked with an assortment of masks, glittered fleur de lis, garlands and ornaments of purple, gold and green. From afar, you’d feel the warmth as every ornament plays a factor in making the Christmas tree shine brighter than a diamond in the sky.
“It’s that most wonderful time of the year again when we welcome the season of gift-giving with a ceremonial lighting of our Christmas tree. Christmas at Waterfront is most truly Christmas as we celebrate it by giving the light of love to those who need it the most.”, shared Hotel Manager Bryan Lasala. A celebratory toast and unveiling (curtain) was led by the hotel’s management team and special guests. Lighting their 15-foot Christmas tree was just part of it.
For years, Waterfront Insular Hotel Davao, one of Davao’s most loved hotel, partners with the Davao City Children’s Cancer Fund, Inc.’s House of Hope Foundation to share the merriments of the holidays to every child stricken with cancer.
“With ‘Smiles of the Season’, we hope to give them (the children) the joy they give the world by granting their wishes and lining up some wonderful activities that are meant to entertain them.”, added Lasala.
Fifty children were led to the hotel’s Vinta Bar for a private film viewing that delighted them altogether. After, the children were given wish cards and asked to write that they most want to receive this Christmas. Wish cards were then passed around to invitees and guests who would then be their possible Santa and grant their wishes.
Inside the hotel’s Grand Agila Ballroom, fun games and entertainment was provided mainly for the kids and their guardians to celebrate the magic of Christmas. The kids received loot bags and character balloons during the event.
Part of the celebration was the special recipes made specially by renowned culinary partners, Chef Roland and Jackie Laudico. Truly a feast, the Waterfront aims to better your holiday experience with a plethora of delightful treats and savories for the coming holidays.
“I would like to thank Dr Mae Dolendo of the House of Hope Foundation for the constant opportunity of beig able to touch the lives of children. And to our friends from the media, guests and patrons, I sincerely thank you all for indulging us one again for this occasion.” , Lasala said. He added, “ May this season be a reminder of your youthful holiday memories and of how much joy there is to share to the world. We, at Waterfront, wish you a truly happy Christmas. Christmas ornaments are available at the hotel front desk.
Hotel guests may purchase one to hang on the Christmas tree for P200 – signifying their support in helping provide holistic cancer care for the Kids of Hope.
Waterfront has round up some offers where part of the proceeds will be donated for the children’s treatment fund. Stays from December 1 2017 to January 14 2018, P200.00 per room/ per night will be allocated for the foundation.
