CTTMO to Repair Faulty Traffic Lights

The City Transport and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO) vowed to fast track the repair of 23 intersections with damaged and defective traffic lights in Davao City.

CTTMO chair Dionisio Abude said on Tuesday during the Pulong-Pulong ni Pulong media forum that there are 63 intersections with traffic lights in the city and based on their inventory 23 of these needed repair.

Abude said the inspection was done to the 12-year-old lights that were found to be in dysfunctional state due to defective wires.

“The city will procure wiring replacement for the traffic lights to properly work and the usual procurement process will take one and a half months or two months,” said Abude.

Abude said 250 newly-hired CTTMO traffic enforcers had been deployed they insure that there are personnel to deploy for the traffic flow especially for the opening of the classes.

“Once the material purchased arrives, we will prioritize the rewiring and we have already contacted the Davao Light and Power Corporation for the repair of the power meter,” he said.
