Golfer of the Week – Sumihiro Nakao

Sumihiro Nakao is the chief executive officer of the Nakashin Davao International Inc. under the Nakashin Reisyoku, Inc. and Nakashin Syoten Ltd. Group of Companies, based in Kagoshima, Japan.
Five years ago, Nakashin Davao International established the company in Malagamot and started  exporting frozen mango to Japan, and eventually to the European Union.
Nakao makes sure that the strict standards are followed, especially in producing the “sufficient sweetness” of the mango, pineapple and pomelo.
Once in Japan, their products are served as mango chunk, pineapple kebab, mango puree, ruby pomelo — to the enjoyment of fruit-loving Japanese.
The success of the frozen fruit business eventually expanded in the export of processed fish meat and smoked fish product.
Nakao assures the safety and top quality of the products to maintain their satisfied customers back home in Japan.
The friendly Nakashin CEO loves good food and nice golf courses. And it is of no surprise that they are into the food processing business.
But more than just doing business and enjoying golf in Davao (playing golf in Japan is very expensive), Nakao and the company in partnership with the Japanese Chamber of Commerce in Mindanao, have also extended assistance to the Davao City Social Services and Development Office to support the various projects undertaken by the local government agency.
