Golfer of the Week – Jun Serado

Smiling sweetly these days at the club house is Eugenio “Jun” Serado Jr.
The Apo Golf and Country Club director was one of the supporters of the recently-concluded Junior Golf Clinic that attracted 50 participants.
The AGCC board of directors approved the holding of the clinic and directed officer-in-charge Pablito “Billy” Parilla to implement the event.
Serado, without any hesitation, offered to contribute to the clinic which tapped the services of professional golfers of the club.
“I was not surprised when he offered to help,” said Parilla.
Serado, a former Rotary Club of Matina president, is no stranger to contributing for good causes.
The low-profile businessman is a regular golfer and very active in competition that includes seeing action for the club in the annual Philippine Airlines (PAL) Interclub Tournament.
He is also active with the Davao Eagles Masters Inc., an association of businessmen and golfers led by Joe Tesado and Leo Magno, which has raised funds to support scholars and build Day Care Centers.
Serado prefers to make things happen, rather than talking about them. And that explains his preference for always playing a role outside of the radar.
But, that won’t always go unnoticed.
He enjoys playing golf with his friends, but when the opportunity opens for him to become part of a noble cause, you can always count on Jun Serado. [MPB]
