PH Malditas upset Malaysia 2-1

JOST Malaysia opened their women’s football campaign on a wrong note after losing 1-2 to Philippines in a match held at the UiTM Shah Alam Stadium on Tuesday (15 Aug).

Malaysia has to concede defeat to Cathleen Camille Muldong who scored the winning goal for Philippines in the 73rd minute.

However, it was Impelido Patrice Mae San who drew first blood at the stroke of half time and provided Philippines with the advantage.

However, Malaysia quickly replied with a goal from Dadree Rofinus in the 51st minute to level the score.

However, Cathleen Camille sealed the victory with a goal in the 73rd minute to steer Philippines with full points.

MYANMAR GIVE THAIS RUN FOR THEIR MONEY

MEANWHILE, Thailand were made to sweat by Myanmar before walking away with a 3-2 win at UM Arena.

Rattikan Thongsombut was in her element as she struck twice in six minutes to steer Thailand to victory. Win Theingi Tun opened accounts with a goal in 23rd minute to help Myanmar hold to a 1-0 lead in the first half.

But Rattikan found her scoring touch in the second half, striking twice in six minutes in the 65th and 71st minute to put Thailand on a 2-1 lead.

Win Theingi Tun however pulled one back to level the score in the 77 minute. As the match heads into the last five minutes, Orathai Srimanne found the net to give the Thais a 3-2 win.
