Dig this Davao City hoop fanatics, another state-of-the-art basketball gym facility is set to open.
Arcadia Recreational Complex, a project of the Escandor Development Corporation (Esdevco) as a complement to the Matina Enclaves, is set to open its new basketball gym facility to the public next month.
“We are proud to announce the opening of our basketball center inside the Arcadia. It’s going to be the next hub for basketball-loving Dabawenyos,” said project head Gerald Kent Garces.
Fully air-conditioned and equipped with cushioned wooden floor system, the Arcadia hoops center boasts of the Fiber Kinetics arena super-lite basketball goals for maximum experience.
The gym is perfect for social games and even tournaments. It has an electronic timer and scoreboard and can hold a crowd of 800 to 1,000 with its retractable multi-tiered seats.
“It’s an ideal basketball facility for the cage fanatics out there. This is also perfect for community and corporate games as well as inter-school events,” said Skippy Madrazo, Arcadia operations director.
Arcadia is owned by the homegrown Escandor conglomerate whose president Glenn Escandor is also the Presidential Adviser for Sports as appointed by President Rodrigo Duterte and current director of the Samahang Basketbal ng Pilipinas (SBP) Region 11.
As a company, Esdevco has embraced helping grassroots sports by sponsoring school-based basketball tournaments, clinics and coaching courses.
Aside from basketball, Madrazo said the facility may also be used for other indoor sports like volleyball.
At the moment, the wooden panels are being installed and retractable seats fitted while the basketball goals have been delivered.
