Davao’s Genisis Libranza of the MP Stable and welterweight titleholder Jayar “Hitman” Inson emerged as the two champions from the city of Durians in the latest rankings released by the Games and Amusements Board (GAB).
The GAB Flyweight (112 lbs) champion Libranza, 24, who has a professional record of 15 wins against a lone defeat with 9 KO’s, is set to fight Gensan’s Jetly Purisima on August 21 at G-Mall of Davao.
In the 147 lbs-class, Inson was listed as reigning champion with a ring record of 17 wins against one defeat with 11 KO’s. Inson’s last fight, which was in the undercard of the Pacquiao win last month in Malaysia, resulted to an 8-round points win over veteran Australian Terry Tzouramanis. The 27-year old Inson has become a well-focused, experienced, skilled fighter with decent punching-power in his hands. The Hitman has already fought in South Africa, China Malaysia and Japan and is ready for more.
The rankings were released by the GAB rating committee which reviewed and updated the GAB rankings for the month that ended on June 30. GAB also picked Jeo Santisima as its Boxer of the Month.
The other champions are Jesse Espinas (19-2, 11 KO’s) of Misamis Occidental, Jr. Flyweight (108 lbs); Eranio Semillano Jr. (16-8-3, 5 KO’s) of Zamboanga, Super Flyweight (115 lbs); Glenn “The Lover Boy” Suminguit (21-3, 11 KO’s), Bantamweight (118 lbs); Allan “El Matador” Vallespin (12-3, 9 KO’s) of Bacolod, Super Featherweight (130 lbs); “Cobra” Roland”Cobra” Aldea (12-5-1, 6 KO’s) of Negros Occidental, Lightweight (135); and Jheritz Chavez (8-3-2, 6 KO’s) of Cebu, Super Lightweight (140 lbs).
The Super Bantamweight (122 lbs) and Featherweight (126 lbs) titles are vacant.
In the Super Bantamweight class, the highest ranked contenders are Virgel Vittor of Cebu, Brian Capangpangan of Zamboanga and Niel John Tabanao of Cebu while the Featherweight (126 lbs) contenders are Jessie Cris Rosales of Gensan, Lorence Rosas of Palawan and Jerald Deniega of Zamboanga. (NJB)
