Anti-narcotics operatives on Friday arrested six drug suspects following raids conducted in several houses in a remote village here and in Maguindanao.
Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PDEA-ARMM), backed by city police and barangay anti – drug council members, conducted a series of anti-drug operations in at least three areas in the city.
Jevenal Azurin, PDEA-ARMM director, said first to fall was Marlon Campiad Embad, 41, who was nabbed in Barangay Poblacion 3, Cotabato City.
Juvenal said the raiding teams seized from Embad in the 2 p.m. raid some Php75, 000 worth of illegal drugs, drug paraphernalia, mobile phones and two motorcycles sans registration documents.
In a separate operation, government forces also raided a house in Mother Barangay Rosary Heights, this city and arrested Faisal Saguira Salik, 40, Gudtong Guinandingan Silongan, 40, Thong Lumna Zainal, 38 and Onso Lumna Zainal, 42, all residents of the area.
Azurin said seized from the suspects were three heat-sealed sachets of shabu and two unregistered motorcycles believed to be carnapped.. (Edwin Fernandez/PNA)
