ISULAN, Sultan Kudarat — Police operatives were in disbelief after they found a family engaged in the illegal drug business here during an anti-drug operation.
Chief Insp. Aldrin Gonzales, spokesperson for Police Regional Office 12 (PRO-12), said lawmen were to serve a search warrant against a certain Badrudin Sumensil, 50, of Purok Paghidaet, Barangay Impao, on Sunday when police found his wife and son in possession of prohibited drugs.
Gonzales identified the suspect’s wife as Bebeng Guiandal, 47 and the son as Aljohn, 20, both residents of the same village.
The raiding team recovered two huge sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated market value of PHP40,000, a cal. 45 pistol, ammunition, shabu paraphernalia, and cash amounting to PHP16,000 from the suspects.
Chief Supt. Marcelo Morales, PRO-12 regional director, lauded the police for the successful operation.
“This is our commitment to the community for their continued trust to the law enforcement in the region,” Morales said. “We will continue and intensify our operations to free the region from any crimes and illegal drugs.”
The three suspects are now under the custody of Isulan police while charges for violation of RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and RA 10691 (Illegal Possession of Firearms and Explosives). (PNA)
