DAVAO DEL NORTE GOVERNOR Anthony del Rosario will be presenting his ‘report card’ to the Dabaonon people on Monday, June 25, 2018, trumpeting the gains of his administration in steering the growth and development of the Province.
Dubbed as “Ulat ng Pagbabago”, the governor’s state of the province address will be staged at 1:30 in the afternoon at the RDR Gym and Cultural Center, Tagum City, as among the main highlights of the weeklong celebration of the 51st Araw ng Davao del Norte.
Del Rosario is expected to outline his achievements, particularly the impact of the reform initiatives that he implemented in continuing the legacy of transformative governance.
Sources privy to the preparation of the report said the governor hopes to present his address in a shorter and compressed but more substantive fashion compared to his last Sopa.
The insiders also reveal that the local chief executive will flaunt the feats of his leadership in building up the sense of stability, security and prosperity of the Province, despite the unpredictable local political landscape.
He will tout the contribution of the Province to the new era of change that has swept across the country under the watch of President Rodrigo Duterte.
Del Rosario will enumerate the strides of the Province in championing change according to his ten-point agenda known as B.E.S.T. P.E.O.P.L.E.
The platform stands for Balanced ecology, Enhanced agri-aquaculture, Sustainable tourism, Transformative leadership, Public infrastructure, Education and sports, Optimum health and social services, Public-private partnership, Link to the World and Employment and livelihood opportunities.
These agenda are being implemented following the Abilidad at Malasakit (AMA) (Competitiveness and Compassion) leadership branding of the governor.
After his address, the governor will immediately lead the opening of the Kadagayaan Festival 2018, which showcases the history, beauty, bounty and creativity of the Dabaonon people.
He will then proceed to launch the Brunei Darussalam-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA) Travel and Trade Expo that will provide a venue for the exchange of culture and destinations among the BIMP, as well as open business matching for local entrepreneurs.
The weeklong festival will be capped by the anniversary celebration on Sunday, July 1, with Davao City Mayor Zara Duterte as the guest of honor and speaker.
The celebration of the 51st Araw ng Davao del Norte is being backed by the Tagum Agricultural Development Company, Inc. (TADECO), Ulticon Builders, Inc. and MED 9, as the official anniversary partners.
Sponsors of the historic event include the Hijo Resources Corporation, Davao Metro Shuttle, Kapalong Cooperative, Tagum Cooperative, Inc., LYR Group of Companies, Land Bank of the Philippines and the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation. (With reports from Lunesito “Noynoy” Gorgonio)
