Lim, Gaisano, 3 others elected DCCCII trustees

Daniel T. Lim, outgoing president of the Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc., topped the annual election of members of the board of trustees of the award-winning chamber at the Marco Polo Davao last Saturday.
Past DCCCII president Jose B. Custodio, chairman of the Committee on Election (Comelec) officially proclaimed Lim who garnered 55 votes and four other winning candidates. The other winners are John Gaisano Jr., with 54 votes, Bonifacio Tan, a rubber exporter, with 44 votes, Anne Veloso, regional manager of the Development Bank of the Philippines with 42 votes, and Arturo Milan, top executive of the Aboitiz-owned Davao Light and Power Company, Inc. with 36 votes.
The chamber is composed of 15 trustees serving for three years each. Each year, five trustees are elected to replace those whose term is expiring.
Aside from Custodio, the other members of the Comelec are Sebastian Angliongto and Robert Quinto, both past presidents and incumbent members of the BOT.
A total of 10 past presidents attended the election meeting. Aside from Angliongto, Custodio and Quinto, those who attended were past presidents Gaisano, Simeon Marfori, Jose Sevilla Jr., Sofronio Jucutan, Manuel Orig, Beinvenido Cariaga, and Tan.
Sometime this month, the 15 old and newly-elected BOT members will elect the president, chairman of the board and other officers of the DCCCII. They will be sworn into office sometime in January.
Members who are not elected to the BOT can serve the various committees of the chamber addressing special projects and advocacies.
The year about to end was a banner year of the DCCCII, it was adjudged best chamber in Mindanao and best chamber in the Philippines during the Philippine Business Conference and Exhibits in the Manila Hotel, attended by no less than President Aquino and Vice President Jejomar Binay.
