The City Government of Davao launched on Wednesday the Davao City Reports project, a dedicated Facebook page intended to hear and receive complaints, concerns, issues, and other related reports from the Dabawenyos.
The Davao City Reports page offers a convenient and more direct web-based platform for the people to inform officials and agencies about their concerns and problems and for the local government to immediately respond to them.
Mayor Inday Sara Duterte, who personally announced the project on her IG and Facebook accounts, said the Davao City Reports page is the official complaints page of Davao City LGU .
She assured that identities of those who will send their reports will be protected.
“It has come to our attention that people tag my personal social media accounts for their complaints and issues in Davao City,” she said. “Unfortunately, I do not open my notifications and did not download ( an ) FB messenger, these tags remain unattended. To correct this, the City Government opened an official complaints page.”
Only around hours after she made the announcement, the Davao City Reports page has received over 200 private messages on Facebook. Dabawenyos can also email their reports to email@example.com.
The page will be maintained by the City Information Office, which will also forward the collated reports to the concerned offices and agencies for necessary actions.
“The idea is to get reports from people who have access to the internet — process these reports and get quick feedback from the concerned individuals, offices, and agencies,” said City Information Officer Jefry Tupas.
So far, he said, reports received did not only cover concerns about local government services and programs, but also about private companies and other local government units.
“We respond to all types of information. People are seeking help and reaching out to the local government, so we will respond to them accordingly,” Tupas said.
