The President is still waiting for the recommendation of the Armed Forces of the Philippines regarding the lifting of Martial Law.
“I think as of last week they (AFP) ask for 30 days, so i think we should hear from the Arm Forces of the Philippines on or before the expiration of the Martial Law,” said Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque during a press conference at the Malacanang of the South in Panacan, Davao City on November 27, Monday.
Roque said that it should be done before the Congress will take its Christmas break because the expiration will be on 31st. “If we decide for an extension the Congress should have a special session and cut short its Christmas break,” he said.
According to East Mindanao Command ( EastMinCom) chief Lt. Gen. Benjamin Madrigal, the recommendation will be done before the end of the year, referring to the assessment of the situation in Marawi and other parts of Mindanao on whether it is advisable to lift or extend martial law.
