Travel fair of DTAA features 50 players

The Davao Travel Agencies Association will hold its annual, travel fair dubbed as ‘ Lets Travel the World’ on February 16 to 18, 2018 at Abreeza Ayala Malls activity area featuring 50 exhibitors, including new players.

Alexander Divinagracia, president of DTAA said that main objective of the event was to inform and make aware to the general public of the options they have for travel for the whole year.

The travel sale, which was centered on the theme: “The early booking gets the best deals!” will run until Sunday, February 18.

“Affordable airline fares, tour packages and land arrangements will be at stake in this year’s Davao Mega Travel Sale,” Divinagracia said.

On its ninth year, the three-day event spearheaded by DTAA will be more special as it partnered with Pioneer Safe Trip for travel insurance needs of the passengers where SilkAir Singapore Airlines can fly direct Davao to Singapore.
Divinagracia said that 50 exhibitors composed of local and foreign airlines, cruise lines, travel agencies, tour operators, hotels, resorts and destination promotions agencies and Southeast Asia will give Mindanaoans discounted rates as low as the normal deals for this year

“Airlines that will be present will be AirAsia, Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Cebu Pacific, Philippine Airlines, Silk Air, and Turkish Airlines which will participate for the first time this year,” he added.

“The offers that will be made available during the Travel Sale will be air fare discounts with travel flight schedules until 2019, land arrangements that may be used anytime until the end of the year, and organized tour packages for at least two people. These tour packages may include bus tickets among others,” he said.

He said that DTAA is also partnering with BPI, the bank will offer “double your credit limit” to all BPI credit card holders who will use their cards to purchase and book flight tickets during the travel sale.

“We don’t actually expect the public to immediately book in 3 days but this would be more on the awareness and building contacts with the clients for future travels because travel agencies offer services all-year round and is not limited to the three-days event,” said Divinagracia.

Divinagracia said that last year’s expo was a big success as they met their target of P50 million in gross revenues last year.

“We are eyeing an increase of 50 percent in gross revenues this year and we are but positive to achieve it as tourism industry in the region and Mindanao as a whole is booming,” he said.
