LTO gets vehicle from city government

The city government has turned over a vehicle to the Land Transportation Office (LTO) regional office 11 to help the agency further strengthen the implementation of the traffic laws in the city.

Lawyer Lawrence Bantiding, the city assistant administrator for operation, represented Mayor Inday Sara Duterte during the turn over of the Isuzu pick up truck. Niel Cañedo, the assistant regional director of LTO 11, thanked the city government for its generosity.

“This is a big help for us, especially so that almost all of our vehicles are already 12 years old. This will be deployed to further strengthen our traffic laws,” Cañedo said.

The vehicle was fitted with a built-in speed gun to check on possible speed limit violators.

Cañedo said those caught for over speeding and other violations can either be flagged down there and then or the violations will be recorded in their data and would be reflected when they renew their vehicle registrations.

“We will do this to ensure that the motorists are following our laws with or without the presence of our law enforcers,” he said. CIO
