The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) will implement the curfew hours for minors in Davao City even during the observance of the All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day.
Curfew prohibits unescorted minors from loitering around outside their houses between 10 o’clock in the evening and five o’clock in the morning.
Davao City Police Office director Sr. Supt. Alexander Tagum told Edge Davao Thursday that curfew hours will still be in effect for minors because “this is for their protection.”
Aside for the protection of minors, curfew will be in effect because Mindano is still under martial law.
Tagum said that it is okay for minors to stay outside their houses during “Undas” as long as they are accompanied by their parents or adult relatives.
He said that the police will “rescue” minors who are found to be loitering outside their homes in the city and will be turned over to temporary custody of the Women and Children Protection Desks of police stations or the City Social Services and Development Office.
Tagum said that it is safe to spend the night in public and cemeteries and private memorial parks because police officers and their counterparts from the Armed Forces of the Philippines and force multipliers are there to secure these areas during the holidays.
