SM Foundation Inc., the advocacy arm of the SM group of companies, is now accepting applications for the full college scholarship program for school year 2018-2019.
The SM Foundation Inc. in an email revealed that applications are open for incoming college freshmen from public and private high schools who have average grade of at least 88% in second/third grading period and whose household income is less than 150,000 annually.
Walk-in applications will be accepted for screening and exams on February 14, 2018 in the SMX Convention Center in SM Lanang Premier. The scholarship program aims to provide scholarships for public school students.
Exams start at 10 AM; on site interviews for those who pass the exam will also happen on the same day.
For walk-in applicants need to wear complete uniform and bring the following: photocopy of their latest report card, photocopy of the BIR Income Tax Return or Certificate of Non-filing of Income Tax; and ballpen.
SM Foundation scholars enjoy their choice of specialization in Accounting, Information Technology, Engineering and Education.
The scholarship covers full tuition. The scholars also receive monthly allowances and part-time job opportunities during semestral and Christmas breaks.
Upon graduation of the scholars, they receive exclusive job offers with the SM group and engage in other fun-filled activities and enrichment programs throughout.
Fueled by Henry Sy, Sr.’s belief in education–that it is the best defense against poverty–the SM Foundation provides college and technical-vocational scholarship grants as well as access to primary education through school buildings to help the youth achieve their dreams.
