To better serve his constituents, particularly delivery of basic health services to the neediest, Davao del Norte Congressman Anton F. Lagdameo has earmarked additional funds to two major public hospitals in the region.
Lagdameo allocated one million pesos for the Davao Regional Hospital in Tagum City and P300,000 for the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) in Davao City. This proved timely in view of the rainy season and the floodings it usually brings, such as what happened in Davao del Norte and neighboring localities this past week.
Indigent patients from his second district need to get a referral paper from the congressman through his offices in Panabo City and Peñaplata, Igacos to avail of the assistance.
The congressman launched last June 28 the Barangayanihan Blood Letting Program in Panabo City in partnership with Davao del Norte FABC president Vicente “Enteng” Floirendo. Over a hundred individuals volunteered for the whole day bloodletting activity with the help of Tadeco, A.O.FloirendoFoundation, PNP Panabo and local government units in Carmen, B.E.Dujali and Sto.Tomas. It was Lagdameo’s way of helping to bolster the Blood Supply Program of the Philippine Red Cross-Davao del Norte Chapter.
Another P200,000 is being allocated from his priority development assistance fund (PDAF) for Operation Smile Project in Davao City. This is to finance the surgical needs of patients with cleft problems.
Lagdameo frequently does the rounds of barangays in his district to consult with their officials. [edwin lagumbay jr]
