Senator Christopher “Bong” Go’s Malasakit Team visited Pikit, North Cotabato on Wednesday, November 19, to provide support to micro-entrepreneurs and support the local economy.
In coordination with Mayor Muhyryn Sultan-Casi as well as the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), qualified beneficiaries were given livelihood support through the Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa (PPG) program, which Senator Go had advocated for.
Senator Go has been a vocal supporter of local development and small businesses. He is one of the co-authors and is a co-sponsor of Republic Act No. 11960, known as the One Town, One Product (OTOP) Philippines Act. The OTOP program promotes Filipino-made products while providing small-scale producers opportunities to expand their market reach. By focusing on local specialties, the program aims to elevate the livelihoods of communities and contribute to the nation’s overall economic progress.
Furthermore, Go’s Malasakit Team provided grocery packs, shirts, pens, fans, and balls to 19 beneficiaries from various barangays. Select recipients also received a watch and a mobile phone during the event in 5’S” Catering Services, Brgy. Ladtingan in Pikit.
