Holiday Gym marks 6th year anniversary

HOLIDAY Gym and Spa, the city’s premier health and wellness center, celebrated its sixth anniversary with a week-long round of activities.
The anniversary celebration opened with a Bench Press competition last July 31. On August 1, a Thanksgiving Mass was held at the Holiday Physical Therapy Center to formally open the celebration. The Mass was officiated by Fr. Rico Enriquez and attended by staff members and friends of Holiday Gym and Spa. After the mass, the priest went around the complex to bless the facilities anew.
The next day saw the 5th Holiday 5k/10k Run For Healthy Living.  For this year, 530 runners came to participate, a big improvement from last year’s attendance of 370 runners.
Various companies sent participants, like Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation with 14 runners, The Marco Polo Davao fielding 40 runners, Davao City Water District with 34 runners, Mulatto Outdoor Clothing with 16 runners, Emcor Appliance Center also participated with 15 runners. Unifrutti made their presence felt by sending 25 runners. Other groups that participated were Sunifru, Philippine Army 10th ID, PhilHealth, AMS Group, Philippine Air Force, PAGCOR, Park & Shop, Davao Light and Power Corp., Bureau of Internal Revenue, as well as students from different universities in Davao City.
The 10k male winners were:  Joselito Dugos – first place; Roy Leonor – second, and Rafael Poliquit – third. The female winners for the same category were: Monalisa Ambasa – first; Ma. Estella Diaz-Mamac – second, and Emely Avergonzado – third. 
In the 5k (open) male, the winners were: Brian Lupio – first place; Jonel Boncit – second, and Beaunon Tingson – third.
The female winners were: First place – Cynthia Jaro, while Criselyn Jaro came in second, and Cellie Rose Jaro – third.
In the 5k (members only), the winners in the male category were: Paulo Quano – first;  Mynor Gutierrez – second; and David Abundo – third. The female winners in the same category were: Klymille Kailah Rodriguez – first; Chin-chin Panisales – second; and Krysten Jennings – third.
