MetroLifestyle launches running club

Too many people shy away from running or jogging simply because of fear of going too fast or not being able to finish the distance. The solution? MetroLifestyle launched the “MetroLifestyle Running Club…for a Cause” last September 20, a Sunday.
“MetroLifestyle Running Club…for a Cause” is basically a friendly race that involves participants to take part for their own enjoyment rather than competition.  One will not feel pressured to continue faster or finish the distance than he/she is capable of. It is more like a beginner’s program of a running regimen, like walking, jogging and running whenever you are ready.  The idea is to transform an individual from a couch potato to a runner, at least to run 3K on a once-a-month Running Club event.
Participants wear the official Running Club sando with a symbolic “running man carrying a red heart.”  The logo stands for its two-fold objective, which aims to (1) promote a healthy heart by running, and (2) to give back for others to have a decent meal in a day.
A part of “MetroLifestyle Running Club…for a Cause” is to raise social awareness in helping a community or charity.  MetroLifestyle particularly chose to support Rescue-A-Child Foundation, which is run by the Light in Asia Mission.  They reach out to indigent families, educating the parents on dealing with its situation, and feeding the malnourished kids until they reach a healthy, normal condition.
Almost a hundred MetroLifestyle Fitness members, their families and friends, together with MetroLifestyle employees joined the launching event.  Before setting out at 6:00 AM, Ms. Dolly Chuim led the five-minute warm up aerobics.  Gym manager Jimmy Javier led the pack towards People’s Park and back.  Morning snacks were served and participants spent some brief bonding moments for their enjoyment and something to look forward till the next fun run.
Don’t worry about how fast you’re going. Instead, run for your heart – for health and for giving back to others.  Join now at MetroLifestyle Fitness Center & Spa at F.Torres St. corner E. Jacinto Extension, Davao City or call (082)2286180-82.  Add us to your friends list on Facebook and Friendster at metrolifestyledavao@gmail.com.
