More than 500 employees from the Davao City Water District (DCWD) participated in a voter’s education activity conducted by the Commission on Elections (Comelec).
The activity was held in response to the request of DCWD employees and management to the Comelec, whose main objective is to have a smooth election procedure come May 2010.
The DCWD has a workforce of 1,000 employees.
“Voter’s familiarization and education such as this is necessary in order to lessen technical problems that may happen out of ignorance on voting procedures,” said DCWD spokesperson Imelda Magsuci.
“Every vote counts, hence, it is necessary for us to make sure that our votes are properly registered and counted on polling day,” she added.
Among the topics discussed in the lecture were: the content and characteristics of the official ballot, voting procedure, and manner of voting.
The lecture was conducted by lawyer Monalisa Coda-Mamukid, Election Officer IV and Gehan T. Lamaran – Election Assistant II of Comelec District 3 office.
