The notion that companies will soon be totally “paperless,” is no longer true. Gio Sabio, HP Phils. Market Development Management for Supplies, Imaging and Printing Group, said the “explosion of the digital industry” has actually increased printing demands. The more end-users have become digitally-oriented, the more contents are available, especially in the internet, and so with the hardcopies to be produced.
In the data he presented at the Waterfront Hotel, Davao City last April 8, there was a 10-million increase in pages printed this year compared to 48 trillion pages in 2005. Printing businesses earned 134 billion dollars in 2010 alone.
Hewlett Packard (HP) Philippines has forecast an increase in sales of printing technologies from small and medium businesses (SMBs) in Davao City. SMBs accounted for 60-70% of the company’s total sales, 25-30% from the Visayas and Mindanao. Hence, HP offers new printing solutions that boost cost efficiency and productivity of SMBs to help them “rise above the current economic situation.”
The HP Deskjet Ink Advantage K209a is perfect for small and medium businesses that always need to deliver quality printed materials. This printer uses only two original HP ink cartridges, giving it the capability to cut printing costs in half versus other inkjets. It also allows printing tasks to be finished even if one cartridge is running low on ink, and it flawlessly delivers a laser-quality black text with stunning colour graphics at all times. Similarly, HP Officejet 6500 Wireless also gives the ultimate cost per page savings. Proven to have 40% less cost-per-page and energy use than lasers, it can increase productivity without compromising quality.
Sabio recommends the use of original inks instead of refills. Based on a recent study conducted by a leading technical test organization, customers get twice more prints than using refilled and re-manufactured ink cartridges. He added that 42.8% of refilled cartridges tested were found either dead-on-arrival or failed prematurely.
Original HP inkjet print cartridges produced 111.9% more or over twice as many pages than the refilled cartridges sampled from six countries in Asia. HP claims to be truly environment-friendly because it collects used original ink cartridges from big enterprises and then sends them to Singapore for recycling. (For more details visit www.hp.com.)
