Hedcor, Inc. and Hedcor Sibulan, Inc. (HSI) of AboitizPower once again turned over financial assistance grants to top high school students of their adopted schools found in their respective host communities.
Thirty students from the Catalunan Pequeño (CPNHS), Tugbok (THS), Mintal Comprehensive (MCHS) in Davao, and Sibulan (SHS) and Tudaya High School in Davao del Sur received more than P40, 000 of stipend allowances.
Hedcor grants each recipient-student p3,000 in financial assistance per school year. The stipend for the students of adopted schools aims to give assistance for the expenses on books, transportation, and allowance.
Financial assistance recipient Jerah Y. Torrejos of Tugbok National High School (THS) topped the National Achievement Test last March. She garnered 98% percentile rank in the said test.
“It is our pride to know that one of our recipients, a third year student, ranked the NAT. With this, we are more inspired to extend help to students, especially those who pay utmost importance to their education,” said Hedcor vice president for Business Development Gregorio Jabonillo.
In cooperation with the Aboitiz Foundation, Hedcor hopes to contribute to the attainment of the achieving universal primary education through its advancing financial assistance program.
Schools within the barangays hosting the hydropower generating facilities of Hedcor periodically receive grants such as school supplies distribution to its students, computer donations, funds for construction and refurbishment of school buildings. [Angelica May V.Aquino]
