Globe posts P7.1B core net income

Globe Telecom president and CEO Ernest L. Cu (middle) announced the company’s business performance highlights as of the third quarter of 2010 in a briefing for media and industry analysts.
The company registered a net income of P7.1 Billion from January to September 2010. The company also closed the first nine months of the year with 25.4 million subscribers, up ten percent from last year’s 23.1million, with year to date total net additions of 2.2 million.
Globe achieved a record seven-year high growth in the number of postpaid subscribers as net postpaid subscriber additions reached over 70,000 from July to September alone, up 16% year-on-year and surpassing full-year 2009 net additions. The company also breached the one million broadband subscriber mark, more than double last year’s number, on the back of the expanding presence of Globe Broadband Tattoo, its fully-mobile broadband service and Globe WiMAX, for at-home internet use.
Cu was joined by Globe CFO Albert de Larrazabal (left) and Globe Corporate and Legal Services head Atty. Froilan M. Castelo during the briefing.
