Sun Cellular’s aggressive expansion in Mindanao will bring its total number of cell sites to a thousand by yearend, providing Sun subscribers in the region premium quality service and an affordable unlimited mobile service to an even wider network with stronger signals.
Sun kicked off its roll-out program in Mindanao by switching on three new cell sites each in Lanao del Norte and Misamis Oriental, two in Lanao del Sur, and one each in Maguindanao, South Cotabato and Davao del Sur.
“In Zamboanga alone, Sun aims to end the year with 82 cell sites in Zamboanga del Sur, 33 in Zamboanga del Norte, and 19 in Zamboanga Sibugay, totaling 134 cell sites by yearend, an 80 percent increase from the present count of 74,” said Bill Pamintuan, Senior Vice President for Digitel, Sun Cellular’s mother company.
The expanded coverage capacity guarantees Sun users in key areas in Mindanao such as Davao, General Santos, Zamboanga, and Cagayan de Oro better reception, no dropped calls when using their mobile phones to call and text 24/7.
“Our network is designed for permanent unlimited service, allowing subscribers to use their mobile phones 24/7 throughout the year without congestion and, equally important, at the most affordable rates,” Pamintuan said.
Sun has also launched Sun Magic Zone Mindanao SIM, made exclusively for Mindanao, to mark its extensive expansion in the region.
Sun Magic Zone Mindanao, the lowest rate and the most reliable unlimited call and text service in the country, allows users to make unlimited Sun-to-Sun calls and texts for only P10 per day or unlimited texts for only P5 per day. Sun Magic Zone subscribers can also call and text the millions of Sun subscribers in the country by simply loading up with Sun’s regular loads such as the Call and Text Unlimited or Call and Text Combo. Access your colleagues from other networks also via Sun Cellular’s regular loads. Magic Zone Mindanao Call and Text Unlimited is also available in P15, P50, and P200, good for 1, 7, and 30 days, respectively. Magic Zone Mindanao Text Unlimited denominations also include P25 that’s good for 7 days, and P100 that’s valid for 30 days.
The company’s cell sites roll-out program includes key areas in Luzon and Visayas. So far, Sun has switched on 97 new cell sites nationwide since the start of the year.
Sun now has nearly 7000 cell sites all over the country and expects to end the year with over 9000 cell sites. (end)
