The Summer Culminating Activity of MetroLifestyle Fitness Center & Spa was held last May 21 at the NCCC Mall, Maa, Davao City. It was presented together with NCCC Mall, in conjunction with Cherifer’s CHERI-FAIR MALL TOUR.
Toddlers, kids, teenagers and young adults alike showcased their talents in dancing, and skills in martial arts. Jazz, Hip-hop and B-boying hit the stage representing Fit 2 Dance or F2D, alternating with group demos of martial arts like Bushido Karate and Muaythai. Each martial arts class performed amazing numbers like open-hand kata and longsticks competiton, tigerjump challenge, and the dancers dressed up to the max.
The primary goal of this program was to provide students with a public venue needed to perform their talents, while overcoming shyness and stage fright. For the martial arts kids, they had a chance to prove their fighting skills in a safely-monitored sparring tournament last May 14, one week before the culminating activity. This was also part of their learning where participants earned their medal of courage. One of the proud parents, Edwin Alterado, lent momentous pictures of the event.
Finally, all students received a Certificate of Attendance and Participation from Cherifer, the major sponsor for trophies, medals, certificates and souvenir shirts for all the students. Cherifer’s InterMed Marketing Philippines Inc. has been in partnership with MetroLifestyle in bringing high quality vitamin supplement brands during the Cheri-Fair Mall Tour and culminating activities.
Workshop Teachers. F2D is a school of dance, jazz, hip-hop and b-boying (or, break-dancing) headed by MetroLifestyle instructors Fritz Freire and Dan Salvaña, with Jonathan Endonela assisting. Bushido Karate and Muaythai are two of the martial arts classes offered in MetroLifestyle, headed by instructor Nell Jone Astudillo, and assistant instructors Jay Solana, Miel Generale and Mike Bandera. Deftac-Davao Jiujitsu is also offered at MetroLifestyle Fitness Center & Spa headed by Paolo Javier.
