Permit issued at ‘one-stop shop’

The office of the Business Bureau has announced schedules for an off-site one-stop shop issuance of occupational permit to be held in the city’s different political districts.
Business Bureau assistant chief Villa V. Dureza said the first one-stop shop for occupational permit was held last May 16-20 at the Abreeza Mall (Ayala Center Davao) located on J.P. Laurel Avenue.
She said those who have not availed of the Bureau’s services nay still process their permits on the following one-stop shop schedules: June 6-10, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Toril District Hall; July 11 at Bunawan District Hall; August 15-19 at Mintal/Tugbok District Hall; and September 12-13 at Buhangin District Hall.
Dureza said applicants are required to bring documents like the community tax certificate, Police or National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) clearance, court or prosecutor’s clearance. She added that for bar or club entertainers, additional requirements are needed, like birth certificate, health certificate, and affidavit of consent.
For those already employed, Dureza said the applicant need only to present his or her certificate of employment to dispense with other requirements like police or NBI clearance, and court or prosecutor’s clearance. But all applicants must show proof of payment with the city treasurer’s office.
Under City Ordinance No. 0158-05, Series of 2005, as amended or The Revenue Code of Davao City, workers or employees, whether working on a temporary or permanent basis, whose occupation or calling does not require government examination are required to secure an occupational permit and pay the corresponding fee.
