The 3rd Agribusiness Economics Conference will be held on July 13-14, 2011 at the Apo View Hotel, Davao City. The theme of the Conference is “Enhancing the Performance of the Agribusiness Industry: Linking Research Findings to Users”. This national conference aims to strengthen the partnership of industry and the academe by providing a venue to present relevant researches in the agribusiness industry, and to elicit feedback on the application and significance of these research undertakings.
The sub-themes of the conference are: Supply chain management; Value chain analysis; Economics of agricultural markets; Development policy; Social capital; Quality and food safety standards; Trade and market development; Consumer preferences; Quality and food safety standards; Post-harvest and logistics systems; and Producer organizations.
The conference will highlight the findings from the research project “Economic Impacts of New Technology and Policy Constraints in the Production of Fruit and Vegetables in the Philippines and Australia”. Invited to the conference are accomplished speakers from the Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA), the Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS), the Department of Primary Industries (DPI) of Australia, the Visayas State University (VSU), and the University of the Philippines Mindanao (UP Min). The conference is jointly organized by the UP Mindanao-CHED Zonal Research Center-11 and the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research, in cooperation with the UP Mindanao School of Management and the Davao Colleges and Universities Network (DACUN).
