To reward Filipinos’ heroic spirit of leaving home to work for better lives for themselves and their families and to help expand the circle of giving among Pinoys, Western Union will give away a maximum of P6 million to 150 Western Union® Money TransferSM recipients in the Philippines by doubling*their money received.
Western Union re-launches theDobleDoblePanalo program this yearprompted by its success in 2010. Anyone in the Philippines who receives a Western Union Domestic Money Transfer, or a Western Union International Money Transfer from now until August 25, 2011, are automatically included in an electronic raffle where they will get a chance to double the amount of money received. Ten winners will be drawn for 15 consecutive weeks to enjoy double the money received, up to P40,000 or US$800 each.

One of the 2010 beneficiaries, Manuel Guzon, Sr., a retired government employee who has been receiving money from his daughter in Saudi Arabia, was able to pay for his wife’s CAT scan with the extra cash. His wife was able to receive an accurate diagnosis thus facilitating optimal treatment and medical care.
Another beneficiary, Jonathan de Mesa, a tricycle driver from Sultan Kudarat, received renewed hope to have his wife return home for good. He used the extra cash to fund the expansion of his rice farm so that, one day, it may generate sufficient income to support the family.
