Financial literacy program of Sun Life bring benefits to average Filipinos

IT’S TIME!, the country’s first sustainable and multimedia financial literacy campaign launched by Sun Life Financial, has successfully educated thousands of Filipinos in whatever economic level they belong on how best to manage their finances. The advocacy has also tremendously increased the year-on-year growth of Sun Life’s in new policy-holders as a result.
This was admitted by Joub Miradora, Sun Life strategic marketing manager, during the press launch last Friday in Davao City of It’s Time! Awards, whose deadline of submission of entries is September 16. 2011.
Alfredo Sy, Durian branch manager, said that in Davao alone, two branches notched a combined 35 percent increase in new business in 2011, compared with the same period in 2010. Jean Sobiaco, manager of Mangrove branch also in Davao, comfirmed Sy’s statement.
Miradora said that unlike in the past when Sun Life was known only in the urban areas, lately even Filipinos in rural areas like in Bukidnon hinterland towns, the company has become a household name.
Miradora credited the company’s financial literacy advocacy endorsed by popular movie and television personalities like Piolo Pascual as mainly responsible for making their company brand popular.
In its new campaign, a handful of celebrities reveal real experiences of hos their lives have become brighter under the sun.  Education advocate Piolo Pascual, retirement planning champions Anton and brother Armand del Rosario, mutual funds investor Bam Aquino and insurance beneficiary Pia Magalona are just a few out of a thousand more true stories of Sun Life’s happy clients, advocates, advisors and employees that could be found at sunlife.com.ph.
