Davao City Water District advises that low water pressure to no water will be experienced in all areas served by Line 1 of Dumoy Water Supply System (WSS) on October 17, 2018 from 12:01 AM to 1:00 AM.
Specific affected areas are entire Matina Aplaya, Matina, Ecoland, Quimpo Blvd., Juna Subd., Bucana, Bo. Obrero, Dacudao, and Agdao; some Bangkal areas (San Juan Subd., San Roque, Muslim Village, NHA Kadayawan Homes, Santos Marketing Subd., Flores Village, SM Village, Ortega Village, Royal Valley Subd., & Central Park Subd.), some Maa areas (from NCCC Mall to Emerald Village), some Brgy. Langub areas (from Shrine Hills up to Sitio Mojon), and some Downtown areas (Barangays 1, 2, 3, 4, 14, 15, & 21 to 40, right portion of Quirino Avenue from Metro Circle to Davao Mental Hospital, right portion of Jacinto Extension from Sutherland to Iñigo St. of Doña Vicenta Village, and portion of F. Torres Street from Assumption Church to J.P. Laurel Ave.); portion of J.P. Laurel Avenue (from Davao Mental Hospital to Durian Hotel) and portion of Cabaguio Avenue (from Deco Machine Shop going to Agdao Flyover); and Azuela Cove.
DCWD’s Talomo Sump 1 and some production wells under Line 1 of Dumoy WSS will be affected by the Davao Light and Power Company’s power interruption on said date needed to facilitate the normalization of loads of DLPC’s Bangkal Substation.
Although the power cut is shorter in duration, DCWD needs additional time for re- switching on of the affected facilities, pressure build up, and line delivery, thus the longer duration of water service interruption.
On behalf of the DCWD management, general manager Engr. Edwin V. Regalado asks for the understanding and cooperation of would-be affected customers and advises them to store enough water prior to the schedules. Water supply may be restored earlier if DLPC’s work goes smoothly or later if unforeseen problems arise.
The general public may visit DCWD website (www.davao-water.gov.ph) and official Facebook page (www.facebook.com/davaowater) or call the Central Information Unit / Call Center through the 24-hour hotline 297-DCWD (3293) and press “1” on their phone dial for the latest daily water updates. Contact 0927-7988966, 0925-5113293, and 0908-4410653 for other updates, complaints, queries, and matters pertaining to DCWD services. (Camille Margarette U. Solon)
