Davao City Water District advises the public of two sets of water service interruption from 10:00 PM of Saturday, February 8, 2025 until 2:00 AM of Sunday, February 9, 2025 and on February 9, 2025 from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM with recovery time of possible low water pressure to no water from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM of February 9, 2025 affecting all areas served GSIS Sub-system of Dumoy Water Supply System Line 1.
Specific affected areas to experience low water pressure to no water are the portion of GSIS Heights Subd. (streets of Polaris, Comet, Pluto, Mercury, Mars, Virgo, Aquarius, Saturn, Jupiter, Planet, Galaxy, Milkyway, Surveyor, Apollo, Ranger, Telstar, Oak, Pisces, Capricorn, Rhine, Mapple, Willow, and Eagle (from corner of Pluto Street to corner of Eagle Street), entire Royal Pines Subd., Shrine Hills Road, Santos Cuyugan Road, White Rock, Matina Hills, and Jack’s Ridge, portion of Brgy. Langub (San Nicolas HOA, San Vicente HOA, Sitio Mohon, and Langub Elementary School), Portion of C.P. Garcia Highway (from corner Langub Road towards Green Valley), and Green Valley and west portion of Las Terrazas in Ma-a
DCWD’s GSIS Tank 1 and 2 will be affected by Davao Light and Power Company’s (DLPC) power interruptions on the said dates which are needed to facilitate the transfer of loads back to normal set up after the steel pole erection of their new 69kV lines at Matina Crossing and the removal of poles along Maa Flyover Project. Although the power cuts are shorter in duration, DCWD needs additional time for re-switching on of the affected facility, pressure build-up, and line delivery, thus the longer duration of water service interruption.
The DCWD management asks for the understanding and cooperation of would-be-affected customers and advises them to store enough water prior to the schedule. Water supply may be restored earlier if DLPC’s works go smoothly or later if unforeseen problems arise.
DCWD conducts flushing after service works are completed. However, once water is restored, customers are advised to open all faucets and allow water to run for at least two minutes. While doing this, do not drink tap water immediately. Water may be boiled as an additional safety precaution.
