Tungkalan National High School received a rainwater harvesting facility composed of 2,000-liter capacity water tank with steel pedestal, roof gutter, piping system, and complementary appurtenances from Davao City Water District on December 13, 2024. This donation will help improve the water access and supply for the water needs of around 330 students, faculty, and staff of Tungkalan NHS.
This turnover is part of DCWD’s Patubig sa Eskwela project that aims to improve water access of the recipient school. As their counterpart, Tungkalan NHS will be responsible for the maintenance of the donated facility and will help advocate proper sanitation practices in the school.
Community Relations Division Manager Edjan S. Parreño led the DCWD team in the ceremonial turnover.
Patubig sa Eskwela is part of DCWD’s Corporate Social Responsibility Program under Sustainable Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Infrastructure. To date, DCWD has donated WaSH facilities to 58 schools. (𝐾𝑖𝑎𝑛𝑛𝑎 𝑀𝑎𝑟𝑖𝑒 𝐴. 𝑀𝑒𝑛𝑑𝑜𝑧𝑎)
