WHY: DCWD’s Talomo Sump 1 and 2 and GSIS Tank 1 and 2 will be affected by Davao Light and Power Company’s (DLPC) power interruptions on said dates that are needed to facilitate DLPC’s emergency works at the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines’ Davao Substation. Although the power cuts are shorter in duration, DCWD needs additional time for re-switching on of the affected facilities, pressure build-up, and line delivery, thus the longer duration of water service interruptions.
Notes:
1) The would-be affected customers are advised to store water in clean and covered containers before the scheduled water service interruption.
2) Water supply may be restored earlier if DLPC’s work goes smoothly or later if unforeseen problems arise.
3) DCWD conducts flushing after service work is completed. However, once water is restored, customers are advised to open all faucets and allow water to run for at least two minutes. Do not drink tap water immediately but if needed, boil water beforehand as safety precaution.
