Cotabato 3rd District Representative Ma. Alana Samantha T. Santos recently led the turnover of a newly completed solar-powered water supply system at Bituan Elementary School in Tulunan, marking another step toward improving access to basic services in public schools.
Santos attended the ceremony for the project, which aims to provide students and school personnel with a reliable and sustainable source of clean water.
The facility is expected to address long-standing water supply challenges at the school while promoting a healthier and more conducive learning environment.
The lawmaker said the project reflects the government’s commitment to strengthening basic education support services, particularly in rural communities where access to clean water remains a challenge.
By utilizing solar power, the water system ensures uninterrupted operation while reducing dependence on conventional electricity, contributing to environmental sustainability and long-term cost efficiency.
School officials and local stakeholders welcomed the project, noting that consistent access to clean water is vital for students’ health, sanitation, and overall well-being.
Santos reiterated her support for initiatives that enhance resilience and improve the quality of learning facilities, emphasizing that investments in education and basic infrastructure directly benefit the next generation.
