Davao City Water District promoted wise water use and wastewater management in V.L Angliongto Sr. Elementary School (ES) on February 19, 2026 through the water utility’s Goes to School Project.
Around 500 grades three to six pupils from V.L. Angliongto Sr. ES participated in interactive lectures on the water cycle, DCWD’s water distribution process from the source to customers and water safety measures, proper after-the-meter pipeline care, and the importance of rainwater harvesting and storing water for emergency use.
DCWD also presented its upcoming Sanitation Service which will provide affordable, reliable, convenient, envi-friendly, and efficient means to collect, transport, treat, and dispose of septage from the sanitary tanks of households and establishments.
Finally, the pupils recited their Blue Hands Commitment to practice wise water use and protect the environment. They were also given customized information, education, and communication materials containing key messages to complement the discussions.
The activity was capped with selected pupils posting advocacy stickers on handwashing stations and restrooms bearing messages on wise water use, drink DCWD water from the tap, and storing water for emergency use.
The Goes to School Project is a school-to-school information campaign conducted by DCWD to promote water and wastewater-related advocacies among elementary pupils.
DCWD is open to receiving invitations for symposiums from schools and other organizations. Interested parties may contact DCWD’s Public Information/Relations Division at 235-3293 local 1612.
