The Sony Ericsson (SE) announced at a press conference last Tuesday at the Coffeecat on F. Torres St. here that it had sold 140 million Walkman phones. Patrick Larraga, marketing manager, said they would like to be known as the “communication and entertainment brand” for making communication very entertaining.
Larraga introduced their new available models of Walkman phones, Spiro and Zylo, which were showcased on the Sony Ericsson Expo 2010 at the atrium area of the Gaisano Mall until August 22. He said these phones will bring the touch experience to the Walkman market.
Spiro bears the iconic SE Walkman music player, Bluetooth Stereo, FM radio and 3.5 mm jack. Zylo, on the other hand, gives superb sound with clear audio experience and plays in high definition and best sound quality ever on a mobile phone. Both phones also have TrackID, which can identify a music track’s artist, song title and album title by accessing an online music database.
Moreover, with great concern for the environment, the SE makes available phones from GreenHeart line. These phones are made from as much as 50% recycled plastics. Saving up to 90% in paper, electronic manuals are already installed in the phone to replace the paper version. In painting these products, waterborne paints were used to reduce exposure to volatile organic compounds from regular paints.
The Sony Ericsson Aspen, first GreenHeart phone that uses a Windows Mobile operating system, is available at SE shops nationwide. Aspen is a social network tool as well with Windows Live and Facebook access, Google Maps, Youtube and Skype. Users of this phone can view and edit office files easily and are comfortable with one touch operations, or one-click internet access.
While new phones are available in SE Experience shops and authorized dealers, Dabawenyos enjoyed phone demos at the Expo. New phones introduced were from Xperia such as X10 mini and X10 mini pro described as the world’s smallest Android Smartphones introduced by the SE. The X8 will be arriving by the third quarter.
