Confessions of a Partyphile – Dressed-up delirium

by Zhaun Ortega

When a partyphile is having fun, there is no stopping him/her from indulging. This year’s Halloween was no different. I hosted Metro Lounge’s Halloween event, dubbed, Panic Room where gorgeous Partyphiles drank the night away. Davao ’s favorite, DJ Torch rocked the house once again with his special brand of crowd-pleasing favorites, while I gave away prizes (5 gorgeous bottles of booze). Lots of people came dressed up as several different Halloween icons, and even pop stars. Everybody came with their party mojos (even the ones who didn’t come in costumes) which made the party light, fun and easy. I’m starting to think that great events in Davao City can only be mad possible in Metro Lounge.
Anime invasion
And since we’re on the topic of costumes and dressing up; I dropped by a different type of get-together. I attended the Mindanao Cosplay Summit ’09 at SM City Davao to find out how anime-lovers party. It was definitely a different experience. Everybody was dressed up like their favorite anime characters, they had dance numbers, and even games; and although I’m not exactly a huge anime-lover, I must admit, this type of party was fun as well… and they didn’t even serve booze!
