Style Scribe – Taking style to bed

by Nikki Gotianse-Tan

TO say that Daphne Oseña Paez knows a thing or two about style is an understatement. Those who watch this fashionable TV host, writer and producer and hands-on mom on Studio 23’s home show, Urban Zone, or follow her blog regularly, will tell you that, to her, style seems effortless, almost instinctive.
It is apparent in her clothing choices, how she goes for classic lines, refined color mixes and subtle details. This instinct for good quality and a flair for classy chic gave birth to her collaboration and ongoing partnership with trend-setting bed linens brand, Linens Direct. Now into their second collection together, Daphne once again lends her unique, polished trademark to their line of bed linens and accessories, but this time with a touch of clash.
Dubbed “Vibrant Chic,” this new collection is a symphony of refreshing designs and surprising color combinations that Daphne says reflects her easygoing side. “I may be known for wearing the classics, but I always infuse a bit of quirkiness to my wardrobe. I like adding one bold and striking piece of accessory – like my colorful charm necklaces, or colored shoes or by wearing prints. For me, there’s no middle ground. It’s either I go really ultra classic and toned down or go all out with prints and colors. Fashion is fun that way, and I’m glad that with home design we can now have fun as well,” she says. Motivated by her streak for injecting a hint of boldness to her ensembles, she has assembled a line that is characterized by hip, trendy prints.
“Now that I’ve introduced the idea of dressing up your bed in good quality and luxurious basics, it’s time to add fashion into the equation,” she declares. The collection includes the following styles: Glamrock, Helsinki, St. Tropez, Retro Squares and Psychedelia. All clearly show the more colorful and original direction that her line has taken yet still with the luxe and uncompromising comforts that Linens Direct and the Daphne Oseña Paez line have become famous for. Invoking the current trend of Clash and Chic in interior decorating, the patterns actually encourage artful combination and some healthy mix and match for a spunkier scheme in the bedroom. Talk about a breath of fresh lair.
The Vibrant Chic collection is available exclusively at SM Homeworld (Megamall, Makati, Cebu and Davao).
