CELEBRATING its 78th anniversary in the shipping business, the Negros Navigation targets an increase in sales by 30% over last year, its head of marketing and public relations told Edge Davao.
“Now, we’re a major carrier in the country. In fact, in most parts of the country, number one na po tayo in number of passengers. In terms of freight, malapit na rin tayo dun. Masasabi ko lang, from last year, malaki ang increase natin,” Guian Galvez said.
Dubbing their service “Carego”, Negros Navigation has launched its newest brand in cargo shipping, NN Freight, in major areas dubbed “Shippers’ Nights”. Last May 5, Shippers’ Night was held at Viktoriano’s Place on Ilustre corner Gen. Luna St., Davao City.
Galvez said it is high time for the company to re-brand or introduce a service that shippers would like to deal with. “We feel that in launching the NN Freight, mas lalo tayong mapapalapit sa ating mga clients, (to be closer to our clients)” he added.
Aside from rendering personalized service at a lower price with NN Freight, Negros Navigation offers free shuttle service from Davao City, General Santos City and as far as Tacurong in Sultan Kudarat going to piers in Cagayan de Oro city. This is due to the company’s tie-ups with bus liners like Rural Transit Mindanao.
Marketing in different demographics, Galvez said “Gusto naming makuha ang tiwala nila. Marami kasing small shippers na gusto naming ma-encourage na subukan ang service namin.” (We want to gain their trust. There are many small shippers whom we can to encourage to use our service.)
