THERE used to be a time in Durianburg’s history when parties raged on from sunset to sunrise with the funky beats of Madonna, Michael Jackson, Wham and Whitney Houston. Remember the crazy evenings where drinks flowed, crazy hair and wild outfits. The decade of the 80’s baby boomers perfected the art of partying and this was none more evident than at the One Night Only 80’s Party at Fat Bobby’s.
I got to Fat Bobby’s at around 9:30 in the evening thinking I might be too early for the party since I am used to going out just before the stroke of midnight. But boy was I wrong! The place was packed to the rafters with the band already belting out everyone’s favorite 80’s music. Davao’s party scene may have changed but ultimately the people who party just adjusted their party schedules and moved forward.
Somehow, time moves differently when you are having so much fun. Maybe its because the party at Fat Bobby’s created a time machine that brought Davao’s 80’s party scene the back to life, albeit for a night, that is well worth remembering. Congratulations to the gang at Fat Bobby’s, the party was a BLAST!!
