The King of Pop, Michael Joseph Jackson was born August 29, 1958. The show “Dance, Music & Magic” last August 19 at NCCC Mall was intended to honor him.
It’s a show that aims to demonstrate the universality of music that transcends time, language and culture. The artistic entertainment works of Mr. Michael Jackson is the best vehicle to do it, taking into account the relevant messages of his music.
It was a part of the mall’s Kadayawan’s celebration that has apparently captured the interest of the mall goers. It was well attended and enjoyed by the audience.
It’s undeniable that Mr. Jackson’s music has influenced various generations including the present. His songs were showcased through the dances of Pinoy Got Talent Finalist Alta Dance Ensemble; the Super Twins Andrew & Jay-ar with Dabaw Okies who did a dance number like the Jabbawockeez. The songs performed were chosen because of the message it carries; and the most touching one is ‘Heal the World’ which was highlighted by the presence of the street kids. Tassja Austria, Davao’s youngest and only female magician, who incidentally turned 14 on Aug 19, also did her act with the songs of Mr. Jackson as background music.
“Dance, Music & Magic was done with the mall’s collaboration with Magic Rainbow Entertainment and Maykol Dyakson Istrit Dance as the executive producer.
