Ever since the bars were closed down pre-elections in May 2010, the party scene has become somewhat of a bore. Thankfully, like the mythical Phoenix, it always seems to resurrect itself and breathe new (party) life for the party hungry partyphiles in the city of Durians. Enter: Starr. This (relatively) new bar seems to be the club du jour of Davao City for the moment. It is where hot partyphiles flock to get their fill of cold drinks, hot beats, and for the first time in a long time, really good, restaurant quality, club food. But there is one more thing that is note worthy about Starr.
If you’ve partied at Starr and have seen the staff interacting with each other, you would realize that they are like one big family; and this warmth translates to how they serve their customers. It is nice to think that their idea of giving customers star treatment (pun intended) is making them feel like they are part of the family. Thus, they not only offer the best beats, gastronomically gorgeous food, and bangin’ service; they also give their customers an experience that is worth a visit.
Now here is a party tip: if you want to get the best service at any bar, anywhere in the world; you must be chummy with the staff. Starr is no exemption. If you want to be treated like a friend, be a friend. And between you and me, it is the least you could do in return for Starr’s new “no door charge” policy for the whole month of January.
