The Marco Polo Davao bid 2010 goodbye with their uber wild and chic “Flashback to the ‘80s” New Year’s dance party. The Grand Ballroom was decked with icons of decades past as Manila’s Route 70 and Davao’s very own Kardam bands dished out their take on funky disco tunes from popular bands of the ‘70s all the way to the ‘90s. And thanks to the generous servings of sparkling wine for all the guests, there definitely was never a dull moment throughout the party.
Minutes wind down to seconds as everybody waited in anticipation for the coming new decade and at exactly twelve midnight balloons dropped, and confetti flew. Guests shouted and blew on their horns accompanied by the clanging of pots and pans by the hotel’s chefs on parade which was a fitting start to a new decade of prosperity, good health, great freindships and more parties!
