Call this a mood board in brights. Yummy candy brights. If this is sounding lip-smacking good, getting a clear visual of the goods themselves might send you into a sugar rush of an entirely different kind. The accessories of this summer’s season aren’t to be outdone by the prominent color blocking seen on the wardrobes of trendy clotheshorses.
Amping up the vividness in all shades of the rainbow and some fluorescent turns as well, bags and shoes that bring hot flushes of color are the most fun way to get your wardrobe summer-ready (men included!). Feast your eyes on some of the dandier things of color that I’ve seen milling around. Best to prepare your sunnies:
Furla Candy Bag
It’s been awhile since Spanish brand Furla truly gave bagaholics something to get really excited about. Ushering in the Candy bag in this array of hues was a stroke of painterly genius on the part of the brand. As far as I’ve seen, it has become the bag equivalent of a summer anthem for many fashion-lovers worldwide. The bag’s shape, which highly resembles the LV Speedy was another good call in judgment since it will make for an easy carryall. Something to note though is the bag’s transparent material. The clarity might not appeal to everyone but I’m pretty sure a lot will overlook that aspect in favor of owning this obvious winner in arm candy.
Primadonna
Because summer means being out and about particularly in all hours of the daytime, owning the right pair of casual shoes is key. Lucky there are brands like Primadonna that have our backs when it comes to fun and affordable footwear. With the youthful customer in mind, they have made multicolored cotton skimmers and thong sandals made out in fluorescent hues a thing of our color-fancying present. They don’t seem to be fans of slim pickings since most of their styles come in at least three colors. Expect to walk out with a box or two with the feeling of relative guiltlessness, as prices are budget-friendly and the styles too good to pass up.

In the latest of “it” bags comes one that was originally modeled as a schoolbag for British kids. The fact that the Cambridge Satchel is well made, sports ridiculously good quality leather and constantly updated in yummy colors warrants it a mention in this piece. The people behind the satchel obviously know how fast its preppy appeal is growing as it has already declared three new fluorescent colors up for grabs soon: in orange, green and pink. If the brighter-than-thou hues are a tad too much, newly garnered fans mustn’t fret as the classic colors such as green, purple, yellow and pink will be enough to whet your appetite for brights.
Native Shoes at Catalogue
It seems that no one is being left out of the color domination happening this summer. From young tots to the stylish adult male, pants and shorts in the quirkiest of colors seem to be everywhere. If your man isn’t feeling that adventurous, Native Shoes can still create a way for them to march to the hue-happy beat. Native’s footwear is a reinvention of the sneaker and boat shoe but made of ultra-light EVA and in seriously cool bright colors ranging from apple green to Olympian blue. If he is already into casual footwear beyond the usual sneaker (as everyone seems to be, these days), then grabbing a pair from this brand will prove to be one of his best purchases yet.
