Every once in a while, I stumble upon partyphile finds that inspire me to write these types of articles. In the past I have featured scents perfect for partyphiles, music recommendations, as well as some really exciting products. For this instalment of partyphile finds, I have decided to gather a list of products that are sure to make your party/social life a little more convenient.
1.) My first find is the Red Kimono party platter. Red Kimono is located at the ground floor of Abreeza Mall and specializes in Modern Japanese cuisine. The Davao branch is their 18th branch in the Philippines, with 16 branches in Manila and one branch in The Queen City of the South (Cebu). They offer several types of Japanese-inspired dishes that are sure to whet any foodie’s palate; but they are especially proud of their unique maki, sushi, and roll, offerings. One particular line that got me interested is their party platters. Their party platters are a combination of sushis and rolls all plated gorgeously on a platter that is ready for take-out. That means you could order them in advance, pick them up, and serve these Japanese babies on your next house party. They also make for really good contributions for your next pot-luck party. After all, it is always good to add some variety to the menu.
I suggest that you order the Large Party Platter priced at Php1,195 and is good for eight to ten people. It is a glorious serving of 8 types of sushi rolls namely, the Tekka Maki (a simple roll with rice and tuna), Kani Sushi (Crab sticks with rice), Tamago Sushi (Japanese eggs with rice), Salmon and Cream Cheese Maki (which has obvious Western influences and is my favorite among the bunch. The Cream Cheese serves as the perfect silky contrast to the meaty texture of the salon), California Maki (one of the most popular rolls in the world; comes with crabsticks and fruits), The Red Dragon (one of Red Kimono’s signature rolls of crabstick, Japanese rice, fruits, and veggies), and the Tuna Shots (which I especially enjoyed; a huge sushi roll that should be eaten ala a shot of alcohol, top-side first; comes with a creamy topping and a spicy yet flavourful center, and a base of Japanese rice)
2.) Collapsible Tumblers from Pozi+iv Shop. This online store recently launched their products at the Kadayawan Bazaar and to of their products piqued my fancy. These collapsible tumblers can actually adjusted to four sizes. One size just happens to be perfect as a shot glass. Thus, I think these are collapsible tumblers are the perfect accessory to carry around for the Davaoeno partyphile. Not only do tey serve as shot glasses, but they can also be used for any and every purpose. Imagine a round of Beer Pong using these gorgeous tumblers. The best thing is, you could simply push the tumbler down and keep it in its flat state in your purse, bag, or pocket. 3.) Vapur Anti-Bottles from Pozi+iv Shop. These water bottles look like ordinary doy packs (you know, those plastic containers they use for cheap juice drinks) but come in hard plastic. They also come with a spout and can carry aout 500 ml of water or any liquid. And for the regular partyphile, “ay liquid” always translates to alcohol. Thus, if you plan to carry some alcohol with you for the perfect instat party, then all you have to do is fill this Vapur pack, grab the collapsible Tumblers (from item number 2 in this article) and start passing shots on! The best thing about this liquid-container is that it can roll up and tuck itself under a key-ring of sorts; making it less bulky to keep after you have consumed your drink.
4.) Cupcakes by Cupcake Maven. Cupcake Maven is a relatively new brand but their cupcakes remind me of good old times. One bite send me down memory lane ad suddenly I get lost in my childhood. Obviously, these warm and fuzzy feelings are best contributed during house parties and pot luck parties; so why not order some Cupcakes from this shop? Their cupcakes are moist yet fluffy, and the frosting is rich, but not overpowering. And as if a perfectly-baked cupcake is not good enough to make any partyphile giddy, they even have a little surprise treat in the middle. M personal favorite is their chocolate-peanut butter cupcake. Unfortunately, the name escapes me because well, I’m currently under a sugar rush, thanks to too many servings of cupcakes. However, I distinctly remember that particular cupcake having a gooey peanut butter frosting, a chocolate cake base, an oreo at the bottom of the cupcake, a small piece of oreo on top of the frosting, and some cream cheese in the middle.
