If only walls could talk!

urbanisimoOh the things we can hear if the walls could talk. The cheery conversations of milestones and happy times, the praises of great food, and the horror of saying one is full.
These are the conversations you can expect from the walls of Bon Appetit last October 10 when Emil S. threw his birthday dinner for friends. Although technically on a diet, it was gone with the wind, albeit for just one night thanks to the many delicious dishes served.
IMG 1571This is the first time I was invited to a dinner party at Bon Appetit and I am glad I was able to make it. The restaurant located at Plaza del Carmen along Loyola Street, sits in a more quiet area of Obrero that ironically is just a couple of meters away from busy J.P. Laurel avenue. I guess it is thanks to Plaza del Carmen’s open layout with a nice garden courtyard isolating all the craziness of the highway.
I can say I was in love with the restaurant’s cheerful magenta walls and the interesting drawings that adorn it giving it a look and feel of a French boudoir and making conversations while dining a treat for the eyes.
We were served the favorite dishes of the birthday celebrant and the most notable dishes were the tuna salad, the onion tart that was perfectly balanced with the accompanying salad greens and balsamic vinegar, and the beef bourguignon that was so tender and shows a great amount of time and patience during its preparation.
The evening went on with more wine and some chitchat, laughs and more stories. Oh of those walls can speak, good thing they can’t.
