The Australian Embassy along with SM Supermalls launched a touring exhibit to celebrate 70 years of Australian and Philippine relations dubbed as Celebrate Australia 2016! Say G’Day at SM last February 18 at SM Aura Premier. Last April 12, the exhibit was opened at the Event Center of the Annex of SM City Davao.
The exhibit that runs until April 19 showcased the colorful culture, breath-taking sites as well as exceptional educational opportunities in Australia.
The exhibit launch in SM City Davao was led by Ambassador Amanda Gorley and Senior Trade Commissioner Anthony Weymouth and was graced by the Australian government institutional partners as well as the alumni of Australian schools through various scholarship programs granted by the Australian government. Among the alumni present were Davao City Tourism Operations Officer Lissette Marques, Davao City Investment Promotions Center Head Ivan Cortez and SM City Davao assistant mall manager Nick D. Santos.
Also in attendance were Rep. Karlo Nograles, DCCCII president Bonifacio Tan, DCCCII past president Simeon Marfori, and Marco Polo Davao general manager Dottie Wurgler Cronin, among others.
Parallel with the run of the exhibit, SM Davao shoppers got a chance to win a trip for two to Melbourne via Qantas with each P1000-worth of purchase. They may also win gift packages of Australian products. Shoppers only need to show their receipts at the redemption booth near the exhibition area. Winners will be drawn on May 21.
